(Un)done

I tried to make the moon unshine,

Unpour this breathing vintage wine,

Unbeat my heart, but I cannot,

Nor ravel this unravelled knot.

I asked the stars to please unbright

The kisses that they placed on Night.

I cannot make your voice unheard,

Unwrite your pure poetic word.

I tried and failed when undesired,

To pause when you my heart acquired.

Untouch my soul, don’t think you can

Or undo Fate’s own silent plan.

I can’t unfeel,Β

I can’t unlove

You fit my essence like a glove.

And though my lips unkissed may be

You’ve Loved this unloved part of me.

  1. I am undone reading this little heartbeat of a piece. Exquisite, especially that first complete stanza. You had so many perfect lines I’d essentially quote the majority back at you… alas, have some hearts to express how in awe I am of your inner goddess today!

      1. I felt the specialness while reading; honestly, it’s a slight on my end for not mentioning in my first comment that this may be my absolute favorite of yours, or in the top 5. 😩😍🀩

  2. This has to be the greatest most heartfelt thing you have ever written. Thankfully it is not unwritten. I read the amazing cxomment before me, I have to ditto so many of them. This unpoem is a masterpiece. Totally in awe of this piece.

You and I usually have a little playful back and forth, I didn’t want to disrespect this poem.
    It was SIGH worthy. Beautiful.

    1. I feel like thank you is a terrible phrase to say to you after this comment. But from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I don’t need to tell you how much your words mean to me.
I sighed all the way through writing this and when I finished, so I understand your sigh. I felt every word, I was truly inspired when writing this. Truly and deeply. It felt different.
Aww.. no need for banter here . Just soaking in your words and sighs. I’m so happy you loved this. Thank you, my Lonely Author.
      I love it too
